Hey,
I self-harm, and am extremely self-conscious about my scars. I don't know what to do about them, or how to cover them up. It also turns out that a teacher reported me to
Ms.____________ and she acted like a snobby jerk.
So, I guess the question is, "What should I do?"
Love,
Clueless
Dear Clueless,
Let us just say that we are very sad to hear that you harm yourself. If there is anything we can do to help, please let us know. We care so much about any student at Priory, regardless of who you are, and it makes us sad to know that you are hurting yourself. We know we can't do anything to change that, but we just wanted to let you know that if you ever feel alone or anything, please let someone know! We know you might not like going to adults for advice or anything, but we have your best interest at heart and hope you feel better really soon. As for the scars, you might want to try covering them up with makeup or something. That can help a little. We don't know where the scars are located. You can also try certain types of clothing or jewelry (if you're a girl) to hide them.
So, about the teacher...sorry we had to blank out the teacher's name! We just don't want to be held responsible if anything is said in this blog that insults a teacher in any way. However, we completely understand how you are feeling, because many kids feel misunderstood by adults, which is why we are here to help!
If you are self-conscious about your scars, we STRONGLY suggest that you stop hurting yourself, which is why the scars are there in the first place. If there is something bothering you, we would be more than happy to try and help you with that problem (if it's not too extreme). Sadly, we are not professionals so our advice in this situation probably won't be too helpful. However, we think it's so great how you're turning to us for advice. The reason we made this was for people just like you who don't feel comfortable telling their problems to an adult. The only potential soultion we have is to confide this information in an adult or close friend that you trust dearly. Hopefully, they can help you find soultions so you don't feel the need to hurt yourself. We are sorry if this didn't really solve your problem, but we truly hope everything gets better. You are just as special as anyone else, whether you believe it or not. :)
With care,
Priory Peers
